Tara Goddess ⋆ Peacock Titanium ⋆ Chrystal Singing Bowl
Tara embodies active Enlightenment of Feminine Compassion & Purity.
Tara is the goddess of universal compassion, she represents virtuous and enlightened action. It is said that her compassion for living beings is stronger than a mother's love for her children. She also brings about longevity, protects earthly travel, and guards her followers on their spiritual journey to enlightenment. Green Tara (Sanskrit: Syamatara; Tibetan: Sgrol-ljang), filled with youthful vigor, is a goddess of activity. She is the fiercer form of Tara, but is still a savior-goddess of compassion. White Tara wears silk robes and scarves that leave her slender torso and rounded breasts uncovered in the manner of ancient India. Like Green Tara, she is richly adorned with jewels. She is seated in the diamond lotus position, with the soles of her feet pointed upward. Her posture is one of grace and calm.
Born from a single tear from the eye of her father, Tara is one of the most beloved and preeminent divinities in many Eastern religions. Tara means “Star” in the ancient Sanskrit language. In some legends, she reincarnated as a mortal princess who reached the ultimate level of enlightenment through deep meditation. “She insisted on remaining in female form for all of her incarnations despite warnings from monks that she had to become male in order to reach her true potential.”
Choosing her own way, she fully embodied the Divine Feminine and manifested in 21 different forms, most often associated with color.
“Green Tara is one of the most popular and active manifestations of the Goddess. Considered the strongest and original Goddess, Green Tara is a protector from all negative energy and from eight noted dangers: pride, delusion, hatred, envy, fanaticism, greed, lust and doubt.”
Tara is a healer whose powers come from deep meditation followed by swift action. “She is often depicted sitting on a lotus flower at peace, with her right leg extended to symbolize her ability to spring into action.”
“She is a speedy helper who offers emergency aid and provides rapid understanding of situations and relationships. She rescues others by empowering them to save themselves.”
Her Legacy: compassion, protection, bringer of joy, inner wisdom to save oneself, delegating and asking for help, swift and powerful action, productivity, clear decisions.
May we connect to the Divine Feminine within us and remember who we are.
